That's what the computer group from LEAD has been doing every weekend, allowing the volunteers to initiate simple programming and a few other skills to children who don't receive computer training at all.

Greenboard Deployed
The complete Free and Open Source e-Teaching solution built by Greenboard has been in use every weekend since early 2009 by LEAD and Greenboard members in a mobile way and as a complete solution deployed in Wende School since September 2009.

In fact it took about four months to identify and select the right environment to deploy the solution, and a headmaster like Mr. Cai to get the commitment expected from the teachers involved.

It is with great pleasure that we're alive again and available on the web. Following the Chinese Internet regulation changes in December our site was taken down, waiting for our "Internet Content Provider" license number. As we were just one of thousands of site, the whole process did take some time and together with the new Chinese Year we're happy to be back. We also want to extend our sincere thanks to Leornard Adler who donated the Greenboard.org domain in the meantime so we could have a fail over site outside of China. All in all it's only be 2-3 months and we used that time to continue building the classes for Wende and other schools. The coming few days will be spent uploading all this content to our wiki. Thank you everyone for your patience.

December stuffsA lot of things have happened in 2009 for us and the end of the year is the time for cleanning up old stuff and preparing for the year to come. In order to extend our reach and establish better relationship with recent partners we are working on making our content available in a minimum of three languages at this stage. We're also redesigning the way the website works, account registration and content management based on languages and needs for its availability online or offline.

In parallel we're continuing to add a few key application needed in our pilots as well as localization and generation of manuals. Hopefully this will only take a few weeks and all our current educational content still remains available on our wiki.
